BCTjr: What We Do

BCTjr is where the magic begins for youngsters new to theater and those who desire to bolster their theatrical résumé.

With well more than 20 successful productions featuring the youthful talents of numerous children from throughout the region, BCTjr has provided youngsters ranging in age from 6 to 18 the space, time, and knowledge to discover and experience the theatrical process from beginning to end. This primer to stagecraft is geared specifically for those new and not-so-new performers in your home.

BCTjr Audition Information

Beauty and the Beast by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller

Beauty and the Beast written by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller and directed by Rana Teresa Tan. To be performed Friday & Saturday at 7:00pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2:30pm, July 18-29, 2025.

A beautiful woman named Belle is imprisoned in a castle by a Beast. She gradually befriends the Beast, who is actually a Prince cursed to live as a Beast until he learns to love and is loved in return. Beauty’s kindness and acceptance of the Beast's true self allow him to break the curse and regain his human form, leading to a happy-ever-after for everyone. This adaptation of the classic Charles Perrault story includes many memorable characters including the Castle Color Guard, Henri the Painter, Marcel the Mime, Bernard the Baker, Millie the Milliner, Gerard the Grocer, Florence the Flower Seller, Paulette the Perfumier, Fabrice the Fishmonger, the Castle Servants (Mrs. Tea-time, Mr. Windup, Mr. Flicker, Miss Flame as well as a collection of singing teacups) and a pack of growly wolves!

AUDITION DATES
Sunday, June 8 and Monday, June 9, 2025 from 6:30pm–8:30pm at Bremerton Community Theatre.

AUDITION INFORMATION
Auditions are open to youth actors ages 6-18. You do not need to attend both audition dates to be considered for a role. No prepared monologue or song is required. Rehearsals are typically three nights a week, 6:30–8PM, and there are no Friday or weekend rehearsals. Actors must attend all dress rehearsals (July 14–16) and performances; most rehearsal conflicts can be accommodated and should be noted on audition forms. Performances will be Friday and Saturday, July 18th and 19th at 7PM, as well as Saturday and Sunday, July 19th and 20th at 2:30PM. Questions? Please email director Rana Tan.
